I've always loved Detroit, for reasons I've never been able to fully explain. Even in the suburbs, where I spent the first 24 years of my life, you learn to recognize that something special happens despite all the bad mouthing, racism, decay, and stagnation. This 3-part movie helps explain it all better than I could, with the help of Johnny Knoxville.

Almost every single one of my peers in the Chicago film industry have moved to Los Angeles, and the few who haven't have gone to New York.

I think if I leave Chicago any time soon, it'll be for Detroit.
